Water Wells - $1,200 each (930 Euro, 610.77 GBP)
In 2009, we have a vision to provide 25 water wells for 25 villages. Each well provides clean drinking water for 300-500 families in that village.
.- 4 School Buses - $28,000 each (21,750 Euro, 17.076 GBP)
Each school bus is used to transport Dalit (untouchable) children from the surrounding villages to school every day.
. - Church, House, and Water Well - $15,000 (11,644 Euro, 9,148 GBP)
The Church will hold up to 100 people from the village, where they can worship the Lord with freedom. The house will be for the pastor and his family. The Water Well will be for the entire village.
. - Mobile Medical Clinic - $15,000 (11,644 Euro, 9,148 GBP)
The Mobile Medical Clinic will be able to help treat many Dalit people in remote villages where there are no medical centers due to their low social status as ‘untouchables.’ In addition to the initial cost of the Mobile Clinic, $500 per month is needed to keep it staffed, maintained, and stocked with supplies.
. - Children’s Home - $50,000 (38,806 Euro, 30,526 GBP)
The Children’s Home will be a small facility for 50 children located in a neglected village of the untouchables where there are no schools. With a vision for 5 more similar homes, we will provide these children shelter, food, and an education.
. - Home for Girls - $225,000 (174,653 Euro, 137,367 GBP)
The Home for Girls will be 20,000 square feet and will accommodate all the girls that are currently being housed at the current Harvest India campus. Our existing Children’s Home was designed to accomodate 100 children, but we are currently housing 400 children in this facility due to the tsunami in December of 2005. It has been a struggle to raise the boys and girls in one place, and we’re looking forward to providing the girls with their own facility.
. - Hotel Project - $500,000 (388,119 Euro, 305,251 GBP)
Our vision is to build and operate a 5-story hotel in Tenali, Andrah Pradesh in order to provide the financial support needed to run the existing Children’s Home. After operating expenses, the profits will be used to provide shelter, food, and education to 200 children annually. Every year, 50 to 70 children will graduate from the Children’s Home and be able to seek higher education or seek employment in a local business. - HIV/AIDS Hospital Project - $600,000 (475,877 Euro, 366,301 GBP)
Harvest India has acquired two acres of land a few miles outside of Tenali in the state of Andhra Pradesh with a vision of building a 200 bed hospital and hospice center for those who have HIV and AIDS.
